Clinical sexology

Clinical sexology deals with different sexual disorders and problems. Sometimes these problems can be solved through conversation and professional advice, sometimes medicines and/or psychotherapy is needed. These days it is possible rather quickly to resolve majority of sexual problems depending of their nature and underlying cause. We encourage our patients to consult with the receptionist whether they should come to the doctor’s appointment alone or with their partner.

Anonymous consultation and testing

In our clinic we also diagnose sexually transmitted diseases and sexual disorders anonymously. Meaning that patients have the option of consulting a psychiatrist or sexologist without giving out any of their personal information. These appointments are conducted normally except that in these cases doctor’s are not allowed to prescribe medication that are partially or fully reimbursed nor give out leave of absence.

Psychiatry

A psychiatrist deals with all psychiatric disorders from sleep disorders to serious mental illnesses. A psychiatrist opposed to a psychologist has the legal right to prescribe medicine. In many cases they work as a team to achieve the best result. In our clinic psychiatrists and psychologists have specialized in sexology. Sometimes patients only require consultation and no medications are needed. Today more and more people turn to psychiatrists because of depression, burn-out syndrome, eating disorders, gambling problems, panic disorders and sexological problems. It is especially important to seek psychiatric help when psychological or sexological problems are becoming long-term and chronic. Many people are afraid to turn to specialists and when they finally do, their problems have grown and have become much more difficult to solve. Therefore we encourage people to seek help when they find that something is becoming an issue and starting to lower their quality of life.
